Marking a turning point in the world of padel and in the fight against breast cancer, last saturday 20th April, the Frontera Padel Club in Tijuana, inaugurated the world’s first padel court entirely in pink: the adidas full pink. This project represents a significant step forward in the inclusion of women in sport, as well as a firm commitment to raising awareness and fighting breast cancer.
The initiative, spearheaded by Christina Romero, co-founder of the Frontera Padel Club, has an emotional undertone for her. Romero, who suffered from leukaemia as a child, has turned her personal experience into a source of inspiration for the project. From her childhood battling the disease to the opening of the adidas full pink, her story has become a reference in promoting self-improvement through sport.
“The pink court symbolises the strength I gained during those difficult years and my desire to create a space where others can find the motivation to overcome their own adversity“, Romero said.
In this way, the project becomes much more than a padel court; it is a space that seeks to promote inclusion and female empowerment. The adidas full pink is a step forward in the promotion of gender equality in sport, providing a safe place for the women who make up the padel community.
But that’s not all, the pink court also has a charitable purpose. A portion of the funds raised by the court will go to the Mujeres por Mujeres Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing comprehensive support to women affected by breast cancer. The aim is not only to raise funds, but also to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection of this disease.
This significant event in the history of padel and the fight against breast cancer would not have been possible without the support of strategic allies, including the collaboration with Women for Women and the support of adidas as a brand committed to gender equality and corporate social responsibility.
In this way, the adidas full pink padel court represents an achievement within the world of padel, as well as a symbol of hope and solidarity, where every game on the pink court is a step forward in the fight for a more inclusive and conscious world.
