From May 21 to 23, Málaga hosted the first Padel World Summit, an event organized by the International Padel Cluster, aiming to become a global benchmark for both the industry and padel enthusiasts.
In this first edition, we participated as an Event Partner alongside adidaspadel in a double stand, where we shared with visitors all the details of the new adidas PPL HIGH COMPETITION court, which presided over the main entrance of the hall. We also presented the complete catalog of adidas courts, the new redsport courts with their groundbreaking rebranding, and various activities to promote the courts with privileged participants from the company.
The Padel World Summit program was very comprehensive. On one hand, the Padel Business Expo B2B occupied more than 15,000 square meters thanks to the more than 140 exhibitors who participated. This space was a unique platform to explore products, services, collaborations, and crucial connections for the padel business. The Padel Business Expo B2B became the epicenter of networking, a place where visitors could learn about the latest developments in the sector.
On the other hand, the Padel World Congress offered 40 presentations distributed in three simultaneous rooms. Jorge Caña, co-CEO of AFP Courts, was one of the protagonists participating in two presentations. The first, titled “The Impact of Technological Advances on Padel: A Look at New Materials,” immersed the audience in the forefront of technology applied to padel. This session featured Rafael Mengual, Technical Manager of IBV (Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia), and Frédéric Bertucat Martinez, Marketing Padel Group Leader at Babolat. Caña and Mengual explored how new materials are revolutionizing the manufacturing and use of rackets, balls, equipment, and courts. From nanotechnology to advanced composite materials, attendees could glimpse the future of padel equipment.
The second presentation involving Jorge, “ISO Standards for Padel Courts: Ensuring Excellence in Construction and Maintenance,” was an in-depth exploration of international quality standards for the construction and maintenance of padel courts. This initiative, promoted by the International Padel Cluster, highlighted how complying with ISO standards can enhance the global growth of padel and ensure greater quality control and excellence. Jorge was accompanied by Javier Mejía, Marketing and Business Development Director at AENOR, and Javier García Díaz, General Director of UNE and Vice President of ISO, who shared their expertise and perspectives.
Another area of the event was the Investor Forum, the first networking space dedicated to investors and entrepreneurs in the padel field. This exclusive platform facilitated collaboration, contributing to the commercial growth of the sport.
The event concluded with the first Padel World Summit Awards Gala. AFP Courts received the Sustainability Award for our ALUMINIUM courts, made with recycled and 100% recyclable aluminum. The president of the International Padel Cluster, Jorge Gómez de la Vega, also acknowledged the participation of all partners.
Parallel to the professional agenda, from May 20 to 26, a series of exclusive leisure activities for the Padel World Summit attendees took place. These included entertainment, social events, and more networking opportunities, all designed to highlight padel as the fastest-growing sport in the world.
These were very intense days where we could share knowledge and connect with industry leaders. At AFP Courts, we are proud to be part of this global movement that drives innovation, quality, and equality in padel. We leave Málaga with new ideas, collaborations, and a firm commitment to continue working to improve our sport.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand and attended our presentations!
